BALDRUNLAKE
An application from Richard Dwyer
of Culpeper to rezone 23 parcels of land - 38.34 acres in all - in between Sperryville Pike and Old Rixeyville Road includes an offer to the town of 7.93 acres of parkland across the road from the skate park. The satellite park area would be accessed via a yet-to-be-constructed walkway through the existing bridge and under the Pike, Hill supposed.
As part of the rezoning, he added, “One of the things we’d like to see is for them to donate equipment.”
DwyerTrail 's rezoning request also offers the town two more possible park pieces - about two-acres on either side of Bald’s Run - and new walking trails.
“There would be trail systems connecting the commercial office to the residential because we want to encourage live-work type situations,” Hill said of the large proposed development, which would have 312 residential units and 125,000 square-feet of commercial/office space.
“Why work out of town when you can walk to work?”
